The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire project, including resources, budget and programme. They are required to plan, coordinate, and deliver multiple projects from award of contract, design, production through to on-site installation, commissioning and handover. This includes chemical dosing systems, bridge scrapers, and all other various technologies Colloide offer. The role involves managing procurement and production stages – ensuring materials are procured, assembly and FAT testing of all systems are scheduled, carried out and documentation available within required time frames, and monitoring site-based project execution, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover.

The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The Project Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager, and the role may involve management of Project Engineers, Graduate Project Engineers, Placement Students or other similar positions.

Key Responsibilities Project Delivery
  • Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from planning and procurement through to installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans
  • Define project objectives, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring client requirements are met
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions where required
  • Identify and manage opportunities for contract variations and additional project scope
Production & Site Coordination
  • Oversee production activities, ensuring fabrication, assembly, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) are completed to specification
  • Coordinate installation and commissioning activities, ensuring projects comply with design, contractual, and safety requirements
  • Work closely with production teams, site personnel, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful project outcomes
Client & Commercial Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project meetings, provide regular progress updates, and ensure clear communication between all stakeholders
  • Manage project budgets, contract obligations, variations, and procurement to maintain profitability and programme
  • Support commercial negotiations and resolve project issues where required
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and support Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers, providing mentoring and technical guidance
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial, procurement, production, accounts, and site operations
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and Lean principles
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company SHEQ policies, client requirements, and relevant legislation
  • Champion a safety-first culture across factory and site operations
  • Maintain high standards of quality, environmental compliance, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
About You
  • Proven experience managing engineering, mechanical, electrical, or process projects from conception to completion
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project budgets, contracts, and client relationships
  • Able to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deliver projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with in the water, wastewater, process, or industrial engineering sectors is desirable but not essential

Requirements
  • Significant project management experience (typically 5+ years) in the Engineering sector
  • Experienced in leading medium to large projects
  • Experience managing contractors, live-site works, and project risk
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience in industry standard project management processes and controls – financial control, resource management, risk & issue management, planning, change control, benefits management, reporting
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator able to engage with senior clients and stakeholders
  • Formal project management qualification (desirable)

Occasional UK travel may be required.
