Kitchen Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: ROE VALLEY RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONThe Kitchen Assistant will support the kitchen team by helping with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and safely during service.

• Assist with basic food prep (washing, peeling, chopping ingredients).
• Keep work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitised.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools as needed.
• Help with plating and serving during busy periods.
• Dispose of waste correctly and keep bins and floors clean.
• Follow food hygiene and health & safety rules at all times.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff with general tasks as required.

• Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and service during busy periods.
• Assist with food prep and service while meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and portioning standards to maintain quality and compliance.
• Support catering events by ensuring food was presented professionally and customers’ needs were met.
• Help keep kitchen areas clean, stocked, and organised, including washing up and waste disposal.
• Comfortable switching between prep, service, and cleaning tasks as required during events.
