• Provide best‑in‑class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions or concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at Game Stop; prioritize guests over tasks.
• Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
• Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using the POS computer system.
• Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; when appropriate, elevate issues to the Store Manager.
• Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits such as new title reservations, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
• Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations, training associates, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance.
• Ensure store associates complete onboarding, training, and compliance training before opening or closing a shift.
• Schedule store associates, supervise staffing levels, and approve payroll entries and time edits.
• Maintain store cleanliness, merchandise organization, and overall fixture functionality.
• Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
• Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices.
• Support team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative duties.
• Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and manage stock room operations.
• Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately.
• Verify shipment discrepancies and handle defectives accurately.
• Ensure associate and guest safety; promptly report injuries per guidelines.
• Maintain store record files and manuals up to date.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Adhere consistently to Game Stop policies, procedures, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures.

• Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.

• Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.
• Genuine assistance to every guest during every visit.
• Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to achieve objectives in a fast‑paced environment.
• Independent and team player, completing tasks quickly.
• Meeting associate performance expectations: attendance, appearance, safety.
• Operate POS computer system.
• Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.
• Complete required paperwork properly.
• Follow written or oral instructions.
• Execute financial tasks per company policy.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
• Manage pressure and adapt to stressful situations creatively.
• Reliable, trustworthy, good judgment.
• Work alone and move throughout store for up to 12 hours per day.
• Lift merchandise up to 30 lbs as required.
• Onboarding understanding of military ranks (applicable to military base locations).
