As a Charge Nurse in the Infant/Toddler Inpatient Rehabilitation unit at Children's Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, you'll serve as both a skilled pediatric rehabilitation nurse and a trusted resource for the nursing team. Through direct patient care, staff mentorship, thoughtful delegation, and collaboration across disciplines, you'll help create a supportive environment where young patients and their families receive individualized care while nursing professionals have the guidance and resources they need to succeed.

This

role might be for you if:

  • Serving as a clinical resource and mentor by maintaining competence in unit-specific nursing skills and pediatric rehabilitation practices
  • Coordinating and assigning patient care responsibilities based on patient needs and each team member's experience, competency, and clinical knowledge
  • Delegating nursing responsibilities appropriately while maintaining oversight of safe, high-quality patient care
  • Supporting the orientation, development, and supervision of nursing personnel assigned to the unit
  • Coaching and motivating team members to strengthen performance and improve unit and patient care outcomes
  • Collaborating with other departments and members of the interdisciplinary team to promote safe, coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Monitoring the availability and appropriate use of equipment and supplies needed to support patient care
  • Applying regulatory requirements and professional nursing practice guidelines to daily clinical and leadership responsibilities
  • Evaluating clinical performance and learning needs while providing guidance and feedback that support continued staff development
  • Addressing performance concerns appropriately while treating team members consistently, fairly, professionally, and respectfully
