Cashier position at The Home Depot. Provides fast, friendly, accurate and safe service at checkout, processes transactions, monitors Self-Checkout, and assists in selling opportunities while following policies to minimize shrink. The Head Cashier may assist by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns, and coaching Front End Associates. The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.

• Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe customer service at checkout and/or returns.
• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions; monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow all policies and procedures to ensure that shrink is minimized.
• Head Cashier responsibilities: expedite price checks, approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental; provide first-level escalation for customer issues; assist in supervising, coaching and training of other Front End Associates by participating in the training of new Cashiers and utilizing all available tools to coach and develop others.

• The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.
