Product Filing Analyst

AboutThe Role
The Product Filing Analyst will assist in product development, preparing, submitting and tracking SERFF submissions, and advising on life and annuity product form requirements to ensure compliance with state and federal law.
What You'll Do- Work closely with Actuarial, Claims, Project Management, Underwriting and IT in developing the company's life and annuity product portfolio and related processes.
- Conduct research and analysis on competitor products, market needs, and emerging issues to make recommendations for changes or additions to products.
- Develop contracts, policy forms, policyholder notifications and rules, and supporting information for products.
- Submit state filings through NAIC’s SERFF system and coordinate responses to state objections.
- Track, analyze and interpret laws and regulations relevant to life insurance and annuity contracts to determine impact on the product filing process.
- Interact with stakeholders regarding product features and development strategy.
- Prepare filing memos, forms listing, certifications, and other documentation required for filing submissions.
- Track current and prior form filings, state objections and approvals for compliance reviews and audits.
- Develop a playbook for new product launches.
- Create and maintain a repository of all filed and approved forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in life insurance and annuities in a compliance role, with at least three years of SERFF filing experience.
- Expertise in industry-standard life and annuity insurance product filings and NAIC Compact/non-Compact requirements.
- Position may be a Senior Product Filing Analyst for candidates with appropriate experience.
- Highly proficient in using SERFF for life and annuity filings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Strong organization and time management skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, establishing relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated professional integrity.
- Adaptability and quick learning.
- General understanding of the insurance industry and organizational relationships.
- High initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
