A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Lincoln, NE, supporting early childhood students in an elementary school setting. This contract role extends through the school year, from ASAP through May 22, 2026. The site will be a PreK classroom, eliminating the need for travel between locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) tailored to early childhood special education needs
- Completing all required special education paperwork to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborating regularly with early childhood team members and families to monitor student progress and address educational needs
- Participating as a member of the evaluation team to assess eligibility for special education services
- Managing a caseload of up to 20 children in early childhood special education
Required qualifications:
- Valid Special Education certification in Nebraska, specifically an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) or EC inclusive certification
- Experience working with young children in special education settings, particularly within early childhood programs
- Strong organizational skills to manage paperwork and caseload effectively
- Ability to communicate clearly with families and multidisciplinary teams
This onsite role follows a typical school day schedule, with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
