Empower young learners with exceptional support as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing educator, providing expertise to preschool-aged children and their families. This contract opportunity spans from ASAP through May 2027, with flexible options for full-time or part-time schedules (15-25 hours/week for part-time). Work onsite alongside dedicated professionals, bringing your skills and advocacy to a welcoming early childhood environment.

Key

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with early childhood populations (birth-5 preferred)
  • Deep familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and early intervention strategies
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes used by children who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Passion for creating inclusive, engaging learning experiences

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instructional support to young children who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in group settings
  • Consult with teachers, support staff, and families to implement effective strategies for language and communication development
  • Assess students needs and progress, updating IEPs as needed and documenting interventions
  • Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Provide resources and guidance to parents and caregivers, reinforcing learning at home
