CAD Draughtsman

The CAD Draughtsman will support Metis’ engineering, production, and installation activities by producing high-quality technical drawings and 3D models using Solid Works. The role ensures that all designs are accurate, compliant with internal standards, and practical for manufacture and installation. This position plays a key part in enabling efficient production, reducing rework, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

• Produce accurate and detailed CAD drawings and 3D models using Solid Works
• Support design and engineering teams with technical drawings, models, and assembly instructions
• Ensure drawings comply with internal standards and project specifications
• Liaise with production and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and efficient
• Maintain document control and revision records
• Assist with design improvements and modifications

• Fluent in Solid Works.
• Strong technical and mechanical understanding.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to utilise 3D printers and scanners
• Right to work in the UK.
• Proven experience as a CAD Draughtsman or similar role.
• Experience using Harnware.
• Basic assembly and fabrication skills.

This role is based on-site at our Lincoln office. Because our software and hardware teams integrate closely, much of the development and testing happens here. You will report to the Head of Software and work alongside a small team of engineers who share responsibility for delivering robust, well-engineered solutions that support our wider business. Metis is a small business, so while your main responsibilities will focus on CAD, we value people who are enthusiastic to learn and willing to get involved in a range of challenges.
