Sign‑on bonus: $10,000. We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer, Sr. Technician – 3rd Shift to join our Lincoln, NE organization. The role requires the development, design, build and test of robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization; creation of an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human‑robot interaction; and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to explore robotic application opportunities. Tasks include programming and troubleshooting PLCs and control systems, reading and understanding equipment schematics, designing simple electronic control systems, specifying control equipment, and building and installing control systems.

• Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
• Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.
• Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
• Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, completes repairs, and provides preventative maintenance.

• Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2‑5 years’ experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience.

• Preferred education and experience: Associate’s Degree.
• Discipline/Major: Technical Training Preferred.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, detail oriented, problem‑solving skills, mathematical skills, computer skills, technical skills, leadership skills.

• Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.

No or very little travel likely.
