Job Description

Manage a team that designs, develops AI solutions for OCI Networking.

As a director of the software engineering team, you will be the owner for building AI applications powered by AI models.

You will apply your knowledge of AI models, networking, data center infrastructure and network monitoring to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing AI based applications to automate, optimize and secure networks. Interact with other service teams to come up with product roadmaps.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

10 years of software engineering or related experience.

Our organization is responsible for various virtual network services such as DNS, Firewall, Load Balancing and Cloud Connectivity. We are looking for an energetic, engaged, and technically strong Director of Software Development to lead the engineering teams for building AI based applications to automate the provisioning, qualifying and design of networks.

You will lead the engineering team, work with architects to identify and deliver new features and drive the product roadmap. You should understand AI models and proficient in training these models, along with networking concepts and able to architect broad systems interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

• Candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and strategy.
• Establishing and developing the organization to meet and execute on strategy.
• Working with geographically distributed teams and contributing to the success of his/her and other related teams.
• Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team.
• Delivering large scale project on-time with high quality.

• 10 years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
• 7 years experience in people management. Preferably managing managers.
• Proficient in AI Models and familiar with how to train the models.
• Demonstrable success mentoring and growing junior engineers to senior levels.
• Demonstrable leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
