HDR is currently seeking a Pump Stations and Pipelines Business Class Leader to support HDR’s Water Business Group Manager, Water and Wastewater Market Sector Leaders, and Client Development Leader activities in Nebraska and Iowa, including managing people and technical implementation of water and wastewater treatment projects. The Business Class Lead will be responsible for personnel management, performance reviews, salary adjustments, staff selection, development and morale;
identifying, obtaining and assigning appropriate resources to projects to meet budget, schedule and scope requirements; quality control; and supporting pursuits and opportunities with new and existing clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate an outgoing personality with strong people and organizational skills, with a wide variety of project types and experience with multiple clients.
- Staff Development
- Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel.
- Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Take responsibility for operations of production section including utilization, morale, quality control, and marketing support.
- Implement, monitor, and support company policy.
- Supervise engineers and junior staff including time/expense approvals, monitoring utilization, workload planning, annual performance conversations.
- Technical Excellence
- Function as the Project Manager on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects, responsible for compliance with all internal and contractual requirements, QA//QC program compliance, budget and schedule monitoring and reporting, and client service management.
- Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of business class staff and products.
- Ensure all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management.
- Collaborate on business class efforts with area operations, marketing, project managers, and project delivery staff.
- Participate in professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices, and implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews.
- Conduct QC reviews where appropriate or assist technical teams in finding appropriate reviewers.
- Business Development
- Support Market Sector Lead and Client Development Lead in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews.
- Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation.
- Drive area initiatives that are relative to the business class.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- 10 years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment.
- Active engagement in professional or industry organizations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand locally.
