• Coordinates the accounting functions and preparation of the financial statements for the Madonna Foundation and the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital’s Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering.
• Serves as the financial consultant for the Foundation and the Institute and is responsible for the development, preparation, and maintenance of financial data necessary to provide accurate and timely information required for management decision-making.
• Knowledge of fund accounting is necessary to accurately prepare the financial statements and to ensure that contributions are recorded properly and in accordance with donor restrictions.
• Must possess technical and professional accounting skills along with analytical and interpretive skills.
• Must be able to carry out defined procedures and duties under specific instructions, as well as be able to complete certain projects that require creative solutions.
• Must be able to communicate with others to gain an understanding of their needs and expected results.
• Must make decisions regarding the necessary information required in the financial reporting process.

• Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of the financial statements for the Madonna Foundation and the coordination of the accounting functions including daily maintenance of deposits, investments, inter fund transfers interest allocations, and payments/reimbursements between MRH and the Foundation.
• Helps ensure proper donor/grant documentation exists, ensures all donor/grant restrictions are fulfilled, records, reports, and monitors grant monies received, and monitors exp ensures for grant compliance.
• Coordination of the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital’s Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering’s accounting functions that include the monitoring, maintenance and accuracy of the monthly institute financial statements.
• This includes the recording and accounting for contributions and grants received including the calculation of indirect grant revenues and timely invoicing to grantors.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of management policies and serves as the financial consultant for the Institute.
• Responsible for coordinating, analyzing, implementing and synthesizing of the annual budget for the Madonna Foundation.
• These duties include collaboration with appropriate personnel in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of related financial reports and statistics.
• Calculate annual labor and benefit cost sharing and A & G support between the Foundation and MRH.
• Compile, calculate, provide financial information for, and maintain accrual accounts related to Madonna's Self-Insured Workers Compensation and Health and Dental plans.
• Analyze, identify, and make suggestions to management regarding the self-funded investment balances, workers compensation bank transfers, and self-funded reserve estimates.
• Complete monthly reconciliation of self-funded insurance bank accounts to the general ledger.
• Reconcile the MRH account receivable account with the Madonna Foundation on a monthly basis.
• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries with appropriate documentation for the monthly general ledger closing.
• Compile required information and prepare the Foundation state sales and use tax returns.
• Provide and complete required schedules’ information for the annual Foundation 990 tax return reporting.
• Assist in the compilation of information for the annual Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital and Madonna Foundation financial audit, i.e., schedule preparation.
