The Division of Family & Community Services is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented administrator to oversee operations of the Logan County Family and Community Resource Center. The position supervises both professional and non-professional staff providing casework services to applicants seeking public assistance or referrals. The Division works to connect Illinois residents with programs and services, improve health and well‑being, and promote family self-sufficiency.
EssentialFunctions
- Serves as Administrator of a Family & Community Resource Center (FCRC) in the Division of Family & Community Services (FCS) Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Reviews and evaluates casework reports, error reports, audit findings, and quality assurance reviews.
- Interprets, explains, and implements new policies, procedures, or changes in existing ones.
- Travels to establish and maintain effective public relations with employers and other interested parties in the local area served.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required within scope.
- Completion of a 4-year college degree or equivalent knowledge.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization that provides direct services to the public.
- Three (3) years of professional experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and goals of public assistance services (cash, food, medical assistance programs).
- Three (3) years of professional experience in a public assistance eligibility system such as Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES).
- Three (3) years of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling/discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff, and approving time off.
- Two (2) years of professional casework experience in a social service agency.
- Two (2) years of professional experience providing technical training and assistance to staff to ensure accurate and timely benefits in service delivery.
- Two (2) years of professional experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders daily ensuring detailed and critical analysis of work performed.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays as appropriate.
Work Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 1‑hour unpaid lunch.
