Job Description:
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company to patients, either for routine health care or critical diagnostics. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established protocols. This role requires professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervision
Maintain a safe, professional environment
Execute forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing per procedures
Verify patient demographics and confirm correct labeling with patient acknowledgment
Maintain required documentation and records
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and staff
Job Requirements:
Deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment
Work independently with minimal supervision
Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
Flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Comply with all company policies, including dress code and safety standards
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
Willingness to travel and cover multiple locations on short notice
Able to handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings
Excellent customer focus and clear communication skills
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, WA)
Work Experience:
3+ years phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)
Customer service in retail or service industry (preferred)
Keyboard/data entry experience
