The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures under physician supervision to assist in patient diagnosis across all ages.
SummaryThe MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures under physician supervision to assist in patient diagnosis across all ages.
Responsibilities Include- Performing all MRI, MRV, and MRA procedures with adherence to safety protocols.
- Properly positioning patients and selecting technical factors to optimize imaging.
- Conducting venipuncture and using sterile techniques as needed.
- Accessing and administering drugs and biologicals per protocols.
- Operating MRI equipment and support systems like HIS, RIS, PACS, and coordinating with offsite radiologists.
- Utilizing computer systems to review patient history and document studies accurately.
- Providing patient care across all ages, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating exams within the department.
- Handling scheduling, communication, and participating in quality improvement activities.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, maintaining equipment, and ensuring work area supplies are stocked.
Graduate from a radiologic technology school with current certification or eligibility for ARRT certification.
Valid State Radiographer license required; MRI certification within 36 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
