The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures under physician supervision, utilizing MRI technology to aid in patient diagnosis across all ages.
Key Responsibilities Include- Performing all types of MRI, MRV, and MRA procedures while practicing safety protocols.
- Positioning patients correctly and selecting appropriate technical settings to optimize imaging.
- Performing venipuncture and administering drugs or biologicals as needed, following hospital procedures.
- Operating MRI equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, PACS, and offsite radiologist services.
- Utilizing computer systems to review patient history and document studies accurately.
- Providing care to patients of all ages, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating exams with medical staff and departments.
- Managing scheduling, answering queries courteously, and participating in quality improvement activities.
- Maintaining equipment through cleaning and disinfection, reporting issues promptly, and ensuring work areas are stocked.
- Graduation from a radiologic technology program with current certification or eligibility for ARRT certification.
- Valid State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license.
- MRI certification within 36 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
