Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Location: Hybrid to Kansas City, MO
OverviewThe Payroll and Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and employee benefits administration. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, manages vendor relationships, and provides guidance to employees regarding payroll and benefits programs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Oversee payroll tax filings and ensure accurate reporting.
- Partner with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll and benefits data.
- Manage relationships with benefits vendors and brokers; negotiate renewals and resolve issues.
- Develop and implement payroll and benefits policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries.
- Prepare reports for management, audits, and compliance purposes.
- Stay current on industry trends, legislation, and best practices related to payroll and benefits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and benefits platforms.
- Understanding of federal and state labor laws, FLSA, and ACA compliance.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP
