Position Summary
Abacus Solutions Group is seeking a Tier 2 Field Service Engineer Journeyman to provide on-site IT support in a federal environment. This role supports end users with hands‑on troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and network connectivity. This is a customer‑facing position requiring strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in an office setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers and related software
- Support basic network connectivity and hardware issues
- Connect devices to existing data networks
- Maintain trouble logs and documentation in ticketing systems
- Provide in‑person and remote support to end users
- Perform minor hardware and software repairs
- Assist users with proper use of hardware and software
- Document daily support activities and resolutions
- Collaborate with staff and management regarding system needs and improvements
