The Sr. Director of Inventory Management serves as the enterprise leader responsible for shaping Datavant’s long-term inventory, demand planning, and supply chain optimization strategy across all retrieval products and operational business units. This role defines the vision, frameworks, and governance models that ensure Datavant maintains a scalable, resilient, and data-driven inventory ecosystem that supports current and future growth.

This leader sets the strategic direction for integrated demand planning, oversees the transformation of planning capabilities and technologies, establishes enterprise-level performance standards, and ensures executive alignment on supply chain priorities. The Sr. Director drives the evolution of inventory operations into a predictive, analytics-driven discipline that enables superior customer service and operational efficiency.

You will:

Inventory Strategy & Vision

  • Own the long‑term strategic roadmap for inventory management across all traditional retrieval types.

  • Define the enterprise operating model, governance structure, and planning philosophy to support Datavant’s scale and multi‑product environment.

  • Ensure alignment with corporate strategy, operational goals, financial targets, and customer experience objectives.

Cross‑Functional Partnership for Demand & Supply Alignment

  • Lead executive‑level S&OP / IBP processes, ensuring cross‑company alignment between demand, supply, capacity, and financial planning.

  • Integrate planning cycles with broader organizational planning (e.g., annual operating planning, strategic planning, budgeting, performance cycles, etc).

Advanced Analytics & Forecasting Innovation

  • Champion the adoption of advanced forecasting methods, ML models, and predictive analytics to elevate accuracy and responsiveness.

  • Drive investments in next‑generation planning tools, scenario modeling capabilities, and integrated data pipelines.

Organizational Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build organizational capability through coaching and leading a team of professionals.

  • Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on all matters related to inventory strategy, demand planning, and performance.

Enterprise Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish enterprise‑level KPIs, dashboards, and reporting structures for demand and supply planning performance. Communicate insights, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior executive audiences when needed.

  • Drive accountability to meet service‑level commitments, cost targets, and planning accuracy benchmarks.

Transformation, Technology, & Process Modernization

  • Lead transformation initiatives to modernize inventory operations, document, integrate automation, and improve end‑to‑end planning efficiency.

  • Set standards for process excellence and continuous improvement across the function.

Risk Management & Business Continuity

  • Develop and oversee contingency strategies and risk mitigation frameworks for operational disruptions.

  • Lead cross‑functional response planning and escalation for major risk events, ensuring resilience and operational continuity.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, analytics, operations, or related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
