Job Description: Safety Technician - Lincoln, NE

Responsibilities
  • Support and assist the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Organize and conduct safety meetings for colleagues.
  • Assist in incident investigations and analyze accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes.
  • Maintain/update/upload safety records, including incident reports, training materials, and safety data sheets.
  • Collaborate with shift management and department heads to develop and update safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Enforce known safety and health rules.
  • Provide daily follow-up on all safety incidents under investigation.
  • Support in any emergency or security situations.
  • Build colleague commitment and enthusiasm for safety through effective leadership and influence.
  • Participate and/or run the Safety Pillar Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong Organization and Communication Skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Sphera (Incident Tracking Database)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $60,300.00 - $

Note: Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Overtime pay applies where applicable. This is an at-will position.
