Job Purpose and Goals:

The Associate Director of Outreach:
Mobilization plays a key role in helping Lincoln Berean Church live out its mission by shaping a culture where every believer is equipped and engaged in gospel-centered outreach. This role creates clear, practical pathways for people to participate in God’s work locally and globally, providing hands‑on experiences and intentional training that build confidence to share Jesus in everyday life. Acting as a bridge between our church body, ministry teams, and outreach partners, this role guides individuals from event-based exposure into long‑term, personal engagement in gospel demonstration and proclamation.

Seeking to mobilize every believer to grow in Christlikeness and live as a multiplying disciple.

We believe every follower of Jesus is called to live on mission—right where they are and to the ends of the earth. We are looking for someone to spark and sustain that calling within our church family. This role isn’t just about creating and executing opportunities; it’s about cultivating a culture where gospel conversations are natural, compassion is active, and disciple‑making is a way of life.

We are looking for someone who desires to meaningfully connect our church family into what God is doing in the world and then guide them into meaningful next steps.

The five key roles for this ‘seat’ are:
  • Equipping and Training the Body
  • Leading Teams into Local and Global Mission
  • Helping People Take Intentional Next Steps
  • Collaborating with Internal Ministries
  • Engaging with Local and Global Partners
Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Equipping and Training the Body
  • Design and deliver practical, hands‑on training that equips believers to confidently engage in gospel conversations and ministry.
  • Build and mentor teams of lay leaders and local partners who can multiply equipping efforts across the church.
  • Teach and model biblically solid missiology, preparing people to work with and love the diversity of the global church.
Leading Teams into Local and Global Mission
  • Plan and lead meaningful exposure opportunities where teams join in what God is doing locally and globally (global travel required: 2‑4 trips per year).
  • Provide shepherding and logistical leadership before, during, and after each exposure experience.
  • Develop leaders who can guide teams in cross‑cultural and community engagement settings.
Helping People Take Intentional Next Steps
  • Develop and implement follow‑up strategies, under the direction of the Director of Outreach, to move people from equipping and exposure into everyday missional living.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Outreach:
Multiplication in creating specific “next step” plans for each outreach event.
  • Coach participants to identify and pursue personal next steps in gospel demonstration and proclamation.
  • Provide tools, encouragement, and accountability to help sustain long‑term engagement.
Collaborating with Internal Ministries
  • Collaborate with Life Groups, Next Gen, and other ministries to plan gospel engagement opportunities that align with church‑wide discipleship goals.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to creatively integrate outreach into their rhythms, events, and teaching.
  • Maintain clear communication and shared vision so every ministry knows how Outreach connects with their work.
  • Ensure Outreach participants are welcomed, supported, and connected into the life of the wider church.
Engaging with Local and Global Partners
  • Maintain relational connection with ministry partners, being intentionally present in the community.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Outreach and team, identify which partners best support effective equipping and exposure events.
  • Collaborate with partners to plan and execute outreach opportunities.
  • Understand the needs, stories, and opportunities of each partner to create meaningful engagement contexts.
