JUVENILE JUSTICE MINISTRY DIRECTOR – Youth For Christ USA Inc.
Qualified leaders are needed to head our outreach programs to jailed teens, released teens, and diversion participants across multiple facilities. This role reports to the Executive Director or Chief Ministry Officer as part of the leadership team.
Position SummaryThis person will oversee ministry in Lancaster County Youth Services Center, Lincoln YRTC, Lancaster County Diversion, and other facilities. Responsibilities include oversight of ministry sites, leading and managing volunteers, resourcing staff, developing future ministry sites, community collaboration, and fund development.
Essential Functions Ministry Health- Direct and guide volunteers and staff through the 5 Essentials and National Ministry best practices
- Develop current ministry sites health and growth
- Regularly evaluate ministry effectiveness and help sites grow
- Volunteer oversight; develop recruiting, training, and retention plan for volunteer teams
- Build deep community relationships around current ministry sites
- Consistently involved in local ministry with lost teens
- Handle some administrative functions such as reporting and scheduling
- Collaborate with the Executive Director or Chief Ministry Officer to develop vision for ministry expansion
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers for juvenile justice facilities
- Support and train new ministry staff in community development and ministry in their first year
- Build a strategic community collaboration plan for new sites
- Help build a culture of people development within the chapter
- Aid new ministry staff through the YFC Credentialing process
- Participate in the wider YFC movement for personal growth
- Oversee internship programs for developing young leaders
- Participate in team-oriented fundraising efforts
- Win, keep, and lift donors
- Work with the Executive Director or Chief Ministry Officer on pursuing significant donors
- Develop local support to assist with current and new ministry sites
- Assist site directors in developing local Community Support Teams when appropriate
- Seek God’s guidance and wisdom for the organization and specific initiatives
- Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship
- Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events
- Model empathy, humility, and care; promote equity and inclusion in word and practice of faith expression
- Opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through Youth for Christ process or ordained by a body recognized by YFC USA

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in fundraising activities such as extending invitations, recruiting donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, making personal calls, and ministering to donors.
Credentials Required & Preferred EducationExperience working in the justice system as a volunteer or employee – Preferred.
High School Graduation or GED – Required.
College or Associates Degree – Preferred.
