Eventide-Tabitha is currently hiring for a Full‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) for a Day shift 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. (12 hours). This position includes a every‑third‑weekend and holiday rotation.
The Charge Nurse ensures that the highest degree of nursing care is provided in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Eventide-Tabitha.
Ideal Candidate- At least 18 years old.
- Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse program. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an RN or LPN preferred.
- RN or LPN license in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state. CPR required. Licenses/credentials must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee. Must meet Tabitha’s vaccination requirements.
Job Duties
- Follow through on physicians’ orders according to Tabitha’s policies and procedures. If appropriate, receive and record physicians’ orders.
- Prepare, administer, and/or supervise the administration of medication, treatments, and other nursing services as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures. Observe seniors/clients for any sign of adverse reaction to medications.
- Assess seniors/clients assigned to them in regard to physical, mental and psychosocial status, reporting condition changes in a timely manner to immediate supervisor and providing follow‑up with family and physician as directed. Take and accurately record vital signs.
- Diligently observe senior/client skin per Tabitha policies, proactively taking steps to avoid pressure ulcers.
- Complete procedures and document the appropriate information on the senior’s/client’s medical record in a timely manner according to Tabitha’s policies and procedures. Follow department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
- Provide direction and monitor Med Aides who are delivering medications to seniors/clients. Follow through on the comprehensive care plan as developed for each individual senior/client.
- Provide supervision and education to seniors/clients for self‑administration of medications. Assist in teaching the senior/client and/or caregiver the necessary skills to allow the senior/client to return home.
- Assist in writing and implementing a comprehensive nursing plan of care. Update the plan based on changes in the senior/client’s physical and/or emotional state.
