- Assist Fisheries Division Education staff with the operation of Education Programs, including Family Fishing, Outdoor Discovery, EXPOs, and the Schramm Education Center.
- Conduct fisheries management activities such as field collection of fish community data and aquatic habitat assessment from reservoirs and lakes.
- Travel independently statewide as required to fulfill duties.
- Deliver public presentations to diverse audiences—primarily children, but also adults, professional and civic organizations.
- Employ fish community sampling techniques including boat electrofishing, trap nets, gill nets, and seines.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and other related responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications: 1 year experience or 1 year coursework/training in fisheries management, natural resources, biology, and/or agriculture.
- Other: Valid driver’s license required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General knowledge of fisheries management techniques and aquatic ecology; good communication and public speaking skills; ability to maintain simple records; ability to operate hand and power tools; ability to operate a pickup with trailer as well as a motorboat.
