Job Summary
Follows policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve product quality, materials, components, and operations. Ensures and maintains product and process quality through standard procedures and systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000, AS9100), quality audits, and reviews. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function, either as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

- Requires basic skills in analytical, scientific, or operational processes.
- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods, adhering to quality guidelines.
- Works with close supervision.
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.
Essential Functions
- Define and specify activities, processes, and standards to fulfill quality requirements for materials, components, or products.
- Build and maintain infrastructure and systems to ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
- Identify and address equipment performance issues.
- Audit, monitor, and determine the quality of manufacturing processes and outputs against standards.
- Report and troubleshoot manufacturing deviations and defects in finished goods.
- Conduct tests on materials or samples to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR equivalent relevant education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Discipline/Major:
Quality or related degree preferred. - Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Technical expertise, research skills, problem-solving skills, ability to identify and seek needed information.
Physical Requirements
- Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Lift up to 45 pounds.
- Stand for long periods.
- Work inside and outside, with exposure to changing climates and machinery.
- May work different shifts and outside normal hours.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
Travel Requirements
No or very little travel likely.
