Job Summary: Prepare and cook basic food items in a cafeteria or restaurant environment. Follow instructions and carry out assignments properly while supporting the Village’s mission, values, and service/hospitality expectations. Complete required training hours.

• Cooks/prepares food items.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work with a large group of residents/customers.
• Beginner level knowledge of cash handling and cash register operation.
• Awareness of cost control responsibilities within the department.
• Ability to work irregular hours.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.

• Must obtain a current Food Handler Permit within 15 days of start date.

• Primarily works in a kitchen and restaurant environment.
• Exposed to extreme heat and cold with ovens, grills, cooktops, freezers, and steam.
• Handles sharp blades such as knives.
• Must function around individuals with challenged mental capacities.
• All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in declared emergency situations.

Rate: $15.50 per hour + depending upon experience.
