NIFCO is seeking a full-time Welder Fitter to join its growing team in Lincoln. As a leader in the design and installation of mechanical and fire sprinkler systems, NIFCO offers a dynamic work environment where employees can develop their skills and advance their careers. The Welder Fitter will play a key role in fabricating and assembling fire sprinkler piping systems, working closely with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Select and set up welding equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding processes for fire sprinkler piping systems.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components according to specifications and cut sheets.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
  • Perform welding using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, gas, or wire welding equipment on carbon and stainless steel.
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting as required.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Assist in the fabrication and installation of piping systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with fire sprinkler designers and other team members to ensure project success.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from a technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience welding carbon and stainless steel using wire welding techniques, shielded arc welding, MIG, and TIG. Willingness to learn TIG welding if not already proficient.
  • Certified welding certificate required; ability to pass an NDT 6G qualification process within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and isometric drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 100 pounds as required by the job.
  • Ability to work in environments with moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and loud noise.
