NIFCO is seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our growing field team in Lincoln. Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, assembly, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems according to project specifications and NFPA codes
  • Select appropriate types and sizes of pipe, fittings, and related materials
  • Inspect work sites to identify potential obstructions and ensure structural integrity
  • Cut, thread, and fabricate pipes as required for system installation
  • Connect pipes using threaded, grooved, or cemented joints
  • Secure pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, and hangers
  • Test installed systems for leaks and proper operation by increasing system pressure and monitoring gauges
  • Collaborate with team members and coordinate with other trades on job sites
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and best practices
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three months of related experience or training preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and construction documents
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding of fractions and decimals
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 100 pounds)
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including wet or humid conditions, heights, and outdoor weather
Compensation

$20/hr and up (based on experience)
