OverviewBETA Group, Inc. is a New England based consultant engineering firm and leader in the fields of transportation, traffic, structural, civil/site, and water/wastewater engineering; landscape architecture; urban design and planning; GIS/asset management; environmental sciences and permitting; and construction services. BETA is employee‑owned. This position offers a competitive salary of $105,000-$140,000.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate advanced project planning and development capabilities across a variety of projects and programs, including defining project scope, creating and managing budgets, developing schedules, and coordinating cross‑functional teams.
- Proposal preparation and business development.
- Apply innovative problem‑solving skills to address complex challenges across multi‑disciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Oversee site inspections and ensure proper records from research.
- Coordinate and manage field activities (soil boring advancement, groundwater monitoring well installation, sub‑slab soil gas installation, groundwater elevation surveys, etc.).
- Media sampling & analysis, data reduction.
- Provide technical training and mentoring to junior staff.
- State regulatory submittals for CT, MA, RI, and NH.
- Data collection, field studies, estimating, calculations and project file management.
- Support existing and new clients including participating in targeted marketing and business development efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science.
- 15+ years of experience conducting ASTM and MassDEP related assessment and remedial activities.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to work independently.
- Skilled in client management and business development.
- Skilled in writing and ability to prepare formal reports.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements; perform asset inspections for water and wastewater infrastructure, roadway and other utility assets.
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to perform field work in hot and cold weather.
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science.
- Related experience in other New England states.
- Licensed Site Professional (LSP) certification or ability to obtain LSP certification within two years of hire.
