SummaryThe Machine Operator / Fabricator meets customer order requirements by operating and maintaining fabrication equipment. Also provides cut materials by setting up and operating cutting / splicing machinery. Prepares, assembles and tests assemblies in accordance with work order information, customer specification work instructions and quality requirements.
Responsibilities- Die cut gaskets using clicker presses.
- Cut extruded materials to specified lengths.
- Splice o-rings and package per work order specs.
- Perform basic inspection and pack operation. Ensuring the correct packaging materials are used.
- Working to achieve maximum productivity and exceed time allocated without compromising quality.
- Support and perform quality at the source inspections, as required.
- Learn all Rubber and/or metal hose area equipment as applicable.
- Assist as needed with equipment inspection and maintenance per company requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Segregate and identify unacceptable goods for disposition per nonconforming material and service procedures and instructions.
- Safely operate a lift or fork truck when picking orders or putting away merchandise. Only licensed operators/Certified Operators.
- Observe all company safety guidelines, wear proscribed safety attire and work safe at all times.
- Attend and retain appropriate export compliance training.
- Be aware of guidelines for physical security of manufacturing and assembly areas.
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the management.
- Basic understanding of MSDS/SDS Forms.
- Kitting including bag, tag, and label.
- Possess basic math skills.
- Ability to be certified in forklift training program.
- Operate powered lift trucks (LP fork-lift and electric lift truck).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (packages, pallets, tools, equipment).
- Good dexterity.
- Work on jobs that require repetitive work and motion (packaging kits).
- Discern minor differences (quality inspection of product). Basic shape/material color.
- Accept occasional overtime.
- Work safely and comfortably around hazardous materials with required protection.
- Familiar and comfortable with a variety of mechanical equipment and presses including clicker presses, steel rule dies.
- Report problems with tooling, equipment, materials to Engineering and/or supervisor.
- Understand detailed instructions.
- Able to work independently.
- General computer skills.
- Able to prioritize workload.
This job operates in a warehouse/production floor environment. This role routinely operates various types of presses, hand measurement tools to make or assemble parts.
