ResponsibilitiesAs a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation of new machinery, including assembly, alignment, start-up, testing, acceptance runs, and production support. You will lead teams of riggers during installations and ensure timely completion of each project. In this role, you will diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, provide expert maintenance advice, and train operators and maintenance staff. You will also perform extensive preventive maintenance, audits, and service on W&H machinery, which may include printing presses, extrusion lines, or converting equipment.
QualificationsWe are seeking a mechanically inclined professional with an associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, along with at least three years of service or maintenance experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading technical drawings, installing and aligning equipment, and troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Basic electrical knowledge, computer literacy, and a strong customer‑focused mindset are essential.
Candidates must be willing to travel extensively throughout North America, hold a valid driver’s license, and communicate clearly in English. Bilingual skills in English and German are a plus.
Success means becoming a trusted technical expert and on‑site partner to our customers. You will effectively install and commission new machinery, ensuring all systems are properly aligned, tested, and operating to specification. You will manage installation teams efficiently, diagnose and resolve issues accurately, and provide clear guidance to operators and maintenance personnel. Your preventive maintenance work, detailed audits, and expert service will help ensure optimal machinery performance.
