Abbey Medical Practice is looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist to join our friendly, supportive and well‑organised practice team in Lincoln. The role is part‑time, on a permanent contract and is ideal for candidates who enjoy a patient‑focused environment and thrive on teamwork.

- Location:

- Accurately enter patient information into the clinical system.
- Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
- Process personal, telephone and online appointment requests.
- Answer incoming calls, transfer calls or appropriately address caller requests.
- Signpost patients to the correct service.
- Initiate and respond to patient, team and external agency communications.
- Photocopy and scan documentation and attach it to patient records.
- Input data into patients’ healthcare records as necessary.
- Manage all queries efficiently.
- Carry out system searches as requested.
- Undertake a broad spectrum of administrative duties commensurate with the role.
- Be an integral part of the general practice team.
- Act as a chaperone when required.
- Support clinical staff with general administrative tasks.
- Adhere to safeguarding legislation and practice policies for adults and children.
- Complete all mandatory training and induction programmes.
- Maintain a tidy, effective working area at all times.
- Attend formal appraisals with the manager at least every 12 months.
- Provide cover during staff absences.
- Handle incoming emails and correspondencen
- Participate in initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
- Support the management of repeat prescriptions.
- Participate in shared learning activities.
- Essential: Good standard of education with GCSE Maths and English at Grade C (Level
4) or above, or Functional Skills level 2 in Maths and English. - Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
- Excellent communication skills and empathy when interacting with patients.
- Competence in MS Office and Outlook.
- Initiative, discretion and sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Punctuality and commitment to team effort.
- High integrity and loyalty.
- Underpinning knowledge of safeguarding policies for adults and children.
- Ability to work to key policies and procedures.
