The University of Lincoln is seeking an organised and proactive Contracts & IP Administrator to join its Contracts and Commercialisation team within Research & Enterprise.
This is a varied role providing high-quality administrative and operational support across research contracts, intellectual property and commercialisation activity. You will act as a key point of contact for internal and external enquiries, helping to ensure that contracts, records and administrative processes are managed accurately and progressed efficiently.
Working with a significant degree of autonomy, you will manage and prioritise a varied workload, including routine and non-routine enquiries. You will use your judgement to triage requests, maintain clear records and audit trails, support contract-signature processes and contribute to the delivery of a responsive and professional service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- managing and triaging enquiries received through the Contracts mailbox;
- prioritising and allocating incoming requests;
- coordinating contract-signature processes;
- maintaining accurate contract and intellectual property records;
- compiling and analysing data and producing basic reports and summaries;
- supporting intellectual property and commercialisation processes;
- coordinating meetings, events and engagement activities;
- providing wider administrative support across Research & Enterprise; and
- identifying and contributing to improvements in administrative processes and service delivery.
You will have experience of providing administrative support and be confident organising your workload, working accurately with information and managing competing priorities. Excellent communication and attention-to-detail skills are essential, together with confidence using Microsoft Office applications and engaging professionally with colleagues and external partners.
Experience of supporting a contracting environment or working with information-management systems would be advantageous, but is not essential. Training and support will be provided.
The role would suit someone who is proactive, comfortable using their initiative and committed to providing a high-quality, customer-focused service. As the post involves handling commercially sensitive and confidential information, discretion and professionalism are essential.
This is a good opportunity to develop experience within a specialist professional services team supporting research, innovation and commercial activity across the University.
In support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln, our current students, and any currently engaged agency workers who have been with us for more than 12 weeks. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.
