Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're working with an established and growing organisation to recruit a Contract Manager to join its commercial function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of contracts, commercial strategy, risk and client relationships, and who wants to play a key role in strengthening and streamlining the organisation's contract management processes.

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience within the public sector or healthcare sector, whether that's in a public or private healthcare environment.

The opportunity

As Contract Manager, you'll take ownership of a broad range of customer-facing contractual activity, working closely with commercial, sales, legal, finance and operational teams to ensure agreements are commercially sound, appropriately structured and aligned with business objectives.

You'll be involved throughout the contract lifecycle - from drafting and negotiation through to execution, renewal and termination - while providing practical advice on contractual risk, obligations and negotiation strategy.

This is a role with plenty of scope to add value. You'll have the opportunity to help develop and improve contract management processes, introduce greater consistency across agreements and contribute to a more formalised approach to contract governance.

Key responsibilities:

Draft, review and negotiate a range of customer-facing agreements, including SaaS contracts, SLAs, DPAs, licensing agreements and contract variations.
Work collaboratively with sales, legal, finance and product teams to ensure contractual terms support commercial objectives while managing risk appropriately.
Support the development and maintenance of contract templates, clause libraries and negotiation positions.
Manage the contract lifecycle from initial engagement through execution, renewal and termination.
Monitor contract milestones, renewals, break clauses, obligations, approvals and special conditions.
Act as a key point of contact for contractual queries from both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Provide guidance on contractual risks, obligations, compliance requirements and negotiation strategies.
Support client contract review meetings, ensuring contractual performance and compliance are appropriately monitored.
Ensure contracts and processes align with relevant legislation, regulations and sector-specific requirements.
Support supplier due diligence, DPIAs and other customer contractual/compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve and streamline contract processes, strengthening governance and reducing risk.
Develop a strong understanding of the organisation's products and services to support effective commercial and contractual discussions.
Keep up to date with relevant sector developments, legislation and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a commercially minded and detail-oriented Contract Manager who can confidently manage contractual discussions while building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience in contract management, commercial support, legal operations, procurement or a similar role.
Experience working within the public sector or healthcare sector - either public or private healthcare - would be highly advantageous.
Strong contract drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills.
A good understanding of contractual risk and how to identify and mitigate it.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong eye for detail.
The ability to understand and interpret contractual terms and translate them into practical advice for stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
A confident, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

A legal, procurement, contract management or business-related qualification would be advantageous, although relevant practical experience will be equally valued.

Knowledge of SaaS contracts, data protection, NHS terms, government frameworks, Salesforce…
