Working closely with the project and commercial teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing and monitoring construction programmes to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with key contractual milestones.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed construction programmes from pre-construction through to completion
• Produce and maintain tender, contract and construction programmes
• Monitor project progress against programme and key milestones
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Design Managers and commercial teams
• Identify programme risks, delays and potential opportunities
• Produce short-term, look-ahead and recovery programmes where required
• Review subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with the master construction programme
• Monitor critical path activities and report potential programme issues
• Provide regular programme updates and progress reports to senior management and clients
• Assist project teams with sequencing, logistics and buildability planning
• Support extension-of-time and delay analysis where required
• Attend project, progress and planning meetings
• Ensure accurate records are maintained throughout the project lifecycle
Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience as a Planner or Project Planner within a main contracting environment
• Strong understanding of new-build construction sequencing and methodology
• Experience working on commercial, industrial, education, healthcare or similar major building projects
• Proficient in planning software such as Asta Power project and/or Primavera P6
• Strong understanding of critical path analysis and construction programming
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and construction information
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Able to work collaboratively with both site and commercial teams
• Relevant construction qualification preferred
