Salary: £90-£100 per day (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications).
Heart of Supply is seeking a dedicated and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and nurturing village primary school from January 2026, working full‑time. This role is initially on a temporary basis, with the opportunity for a fixed‑term contract for the right candidate.
As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across upper Key Stage 2, helping them engage in their learning and make steady progress throughout the year. Your role will include supporting whole‑class activities, delivering small‑group interventions, and providing one‑to‑one support where needed. You'll also play an important part in promoting positive behaviour, encouraging independence, and helping pupils develop confidence in both their learning and relationships.

- Previous experience supporting children in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 2
- The ability to build warm, positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Confidence supporting learning under the direction of the class teacher, including small-group work and one-to-one support
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to encourage positive choices through calm, consistent strategies
- Flexibility to adapt to different routines, learning needs and classroom dynamics across KS2
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused attitude
- A patient, nurturing approach and a genuine passion for helping pupils grow in confidence and independence
- A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential for experienced candidates
