About the RoleAs a Sessional Youth Mentor, you’ll play a key part in delivering our youth programmes. This includes youth clubs, one‑to‑one mentoring, and targeted group interventions. You’ll help create safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces where young people (aged 8–25) can grow, feel heard, and make positive choices.
What You’ll Do- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people through consistent, face‑to‑face engagement
- Support the planning and delivery of youth sessions, including open‑access clubs, mentoring, and small group work
- Create inclusive spaces that support wellbeing, life skills, and personal development
- Be a positive role model who champions respect, inclusion, and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external partners
- Contribute to a safe working environment through effective safeguarding and session recording
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Passionate about working with young people
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport quickly
- Flexible and willing to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to upholding professional boundaries
- Eager to learn and grow through training and supervision
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in a paid or voluntary youth work role
- Knowledge of youth development, behaviour support or mentoring
- First Aid or Safeguarding qualifications
- Full training and ongoing support
- A flexible role that fits around other commitments
- The chance to make a real difference in your community
- Opportunity to gain experience in the youth work sector
