Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject(s) that you teach.

Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.

Do all you can to ensure that, as a result of your teaching (and tutoring), your students achieve well relative to their prior attainment, making progress as good as or better than similar students nationally and in the Academy.

Be aware of pupils’ prior knowledge and plan teaching and scaffold appropriately to build on this, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn.

Have a clear understanding of the needs of the pupils you teach, including those with special educational needs, EAL, SEND, and be able to use teaching approaches to effectively support them.

Demonstrate an understanding of, and take responsibility for, promoting high standards of literacy including the correct use of spoken English (whatever your specialist subject).

Make accurate and productive use of assessment to secure pupils’ progress.

Give pupils regular feedback and encourage pupils to reflect on progress, their emerging needs, and to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

Use formative assessment to determine what students know and adapt teaching plans accordingly.

This is a full‑time, permanent position.

M1 - UPS3 £ 32,916.00 – £51,048.00 per annum (FTE).

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Geography, who is a committed educator, brings energy to the classroom, and is eager to contribute to the wider life of our school.

• Relevant Subject Degree at BA or above.
• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Evidence of applying continued professional development.
• Understanding of the current curriculum discussions within your subject.
• A thorough up‑to‑date knowledge of the range of teaching, learning, and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively.

• Create engaging, inclusive, and challenging lessons that motivate students of all abilities.
• Support high standards of behaviour, demonstrating warmth, clarity, and positive classroom management.
• Commit to raising achievement, using assessment effectively to ensure all students make strong progress.
• Work collaboratively, building positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
