QUALIFIED TEACHER – SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS – OPPORTUNITIES BASED IN SWINDERBY, LINCOLN
We are recruiting for outstanding teachers to join our well‑established Education Team at schools in Swinderby (LN6).
We require suitably qualified teachers, with relevant SEN experience, who will create outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for individuals and small groups of pupils (aged between 9 to 18), ensuring a person‑centred approach that is purposeful and meaningful.
About YouWe are looking for passionate, imaginative, adaptable teachers who can lead by example, articulate clear values and moral purpose, and focus on providing excellent education for all pupils. They should have a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude and a collaborative ethos, and be resilient in educating children who other providers have been unable to engage or regulate effectively.
What will you be doing?- Establish and maintain good working relationships to promote the development and effective delivery of the school curriculum and maximise young people’s achievement.
- Teach students according to their educational needs and acknowledge that every interaction counts.
- Create a safe and well‑regulated teaching space that ensures the educational well‑being of individual children within the group.
- Follow agreed and consistent strategies to support young people alongside school, therapeutic services and residential colleagues.
- Ensure careful and ongoing assessment of learning to inform further planning and next steps.
- Match tasks and activities to the ability of the children, allowing them to make meaningful progress and skills and knowledge that can be applied in real‑life context.
- Work within a team of like‑minded professionals, using teamwork and humour to ensure a cohesive and supportive education community.
- Liaise effectively with parents and a wide range of professionals.
- Must have appropriate teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS).
- Be an outstanding practitioner, with a passion for working with children with complex learning needs.
- Knowledge of autism and an understanding of neurodiverse approaches to education desirable.
- Experience teaching a range of age phases is desirable.
