Do you have experience of supporting individuals affected by sexual and/or domestic abuse, and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by students in Higher Education? Can you bring this experience into a specialist student-facing role within a university setting?
We are seeking a Specialist Sexual and Domestic Abuse Advisor to join our Sexual and Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS) within the award-winning Student Wellbeing Team at the University of Lincoln.
This role sits within a multi‑disciplinary, student‑facing team based on campus. You will take a lead on coordinating support for students who have experienced sexual and/or domestic abuse, including assessing and responding to risk where students present in crisis. You will be working with students navigating the complex transitions associated with higher education, where issues relating to independence, vulnerability and changing support networks can impact risk and engagement.
The service operates within a trauma‑informed framework, ensuring that all support is delivered in a way that prioritises safety, choice and empowerment.
The role will also involve providing support to students with a range of disabilities, requiring a flexible and responsive approach.
You will bring significant experience and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with students in sensitive situations. You will be confident in making timely, well‑informed decisions to support student safety and wellbeing, alongside maintaining accurate records and managing complex and sensitive information.
