Science Technician - Secondary School
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Contract: Full Time | Term Time Only (Permanent Opportunity)

GSL Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Lincoln to recruit a Science Technician
. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting practical science lessons.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring students and staff can safely enjoy engaging practical lessons.
Responsibilities- Prepare equipment, chemicals and resources for practical Science lessons.
- Set up and clear away laboratory experiments.
- Maintain laboratories, equipment and stock levels.
- Ensure all practical activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on equipment.
- Support teachers with practical demonstrations where required.
- Assist with ordering resources and managing laboratory inventory.
- Safely store and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Help create an organised, safe and stimulating learning environment for students.
- Has A-Level qualifications in one or more Science subjects (essential).
- Holds a degree in a Science-related subject such as Biology, Chemistry or Physics (
desirable but not essential
). - Has previous laboratory or science-based experience, either through education or employment.
- Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Is confident following health and safety procedures within a laboratory environment.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Can work independently as well as part of a busy Science department.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.
- Salary of £20,000 - £23,000 per annum
, depending on experience. - A full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
