An exciting opportunity has arisen within the University of Lincoln’s School of Engineering and Physical Sciences for a Technical Tutor in Engineering.

The School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Lincoln is a diverse community of students and staff who work together to advance knowledge and understanding across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including engineering, computer science, mathematics, and physics. The School seeks a Technical Tutor with practical skills in building and supporting applied engineering workshop facilities and laboratories. The post would be of particular interest for candidates interested in strengthening our practical teaching support. Crucially, the postholder will also support external learners taking short courses and CPD bootcamps, aligning with regional defence and aerospace manufacturing needs. This role is a critical component of a newly funded 5-year OfS project focused on the expansion and enhancement of our Mechanical and Aero‑mechanical Engineering programmes.

Responsibilities for the post include delivering practical undergraduate sessions and ensuring sustained student access to expanded workshop facilities while adhering strictly to health and safety requirements. Successful applicants will have demonstrable technical experience and be able to support the School’s engineering curricula and mentor students in high‑reliability environments. The technical tutor will be guided and mentored by the academics leading the project.

This post is based at the University’s Brayford campus.
