Hi, I'm Sam, the Nursery Manager at The Marina.
Located on the University of Lincoln campus, our nursery thrives on strong relationships with families, students, and the wider community.
Our beautifully designed spaces—from the magical reading treehouse loft to our bright, open-plan rooms—create a stimulating and engaging environment that supports every child’s development.
Set beside the Brayford Pool, our children enjoy daily moments of wonder as they observe ducks, ducklings, and swans, connecting deeply with the natural world right outside our doors.
Impact Lives, with a Schedule That Works for You The Marina’s PurposeTo give children healthy foundations in fantastic settings, helping them build the confidence and resilience that will set them up for success later in life.
How You’ll Spend Your Time HereYou’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.
You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan.... That will soon get completely derailed though... Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!
Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.
We’d love to talk to you if you have the following- Ideally hold a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse
or similar and you're looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments. - You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.
- You have a natural, nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.
- We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment. If you think you've got the right attitude and abilities, who knows it might be the best thing you ever did. Nothing ventured nothing gained!
