Pay: £15-£24 per hour, depending on experience and contract type

Contract Type: PAYE or Self-Employed Associate
Hours: Flexible, term-time work, based on student timetable est. 15-20 hours a week.

About the Role

Phoenix Dyslexia Consulting is seeking a reliable, professional and compassionate Specialist Note Taker to support a university student who is d/Deaf.

You will attend lectures, seminars and tutorials, producing clear and accurate electronic notes for the student. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the student can fully participate in university life and achieve their academic potential.

Responsibilities
  • Attend lectures, seminars and tutorials on campus.
  • Produce accurate, structured and accessible electronic notes.
  • Submit notes promptly following sessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Liaise with Phoenix Dyslexia Consulting regarding support provision.
  • Complete session records and timesheets accurately.
Essential Requirements
  • Excellent written English and note-taking skills.
  • Fast and accurate typing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word and digital technology.
  • Reliable, organised and punctual.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting disabled students.
  • Experience working withd/Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive practice.
  • Previous experience within education, support work, disability services or healthcare.
