SEN Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Main Teacher Pay Scale
We are seeking a Generalist Teacher to cover a maternity leave, with the potential for the role to become permanent. The ideal candidate will have SEN (Special Educational Needs) teaching experience and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). While a background in Maths and Science is preferred, we are open to candidates from various subject areas.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across a range of subjects, adapting to the needs of SEN students.
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum objectives.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff and SEN specialists to enhance educational practices and student learning experiences.
- Participate in school meetings and events.
Qualifications:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience in teaching SEN students is essential.
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and Science is ideal, but candidates with expertise in other subjects are also encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
- Face-to-face interview, including a 20-30 minute lesson delivery.
- The first part of the interview will involve a review of the lesson taught, discussing what was successful and areas for improvement if any.
- Competency-based interview focusing on teaching skills and experience.
