You'll lead the development and delivery of our process safety strategy, ensuring alignment across the business and strengthening how we manage major hazards. Your work will focus on implementing the Process Safety Management System, developing common design and engineering standards, supporting the use of PSPIs, and ensuring robust risk assessments and hazard identification. You will provide expert advice during high‑risk incidents, prepare the organisation for emerging process technologies, influence internal and external stakeholders, and develop a team of up to 10 Process Safety Engineers.
You may also represent Anglian Water at industry forums and deputise for the Group Process Safety Lead when required.
- Degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status
- Significant experience in Process Safety within a high‑hazard industry
- Experience working with Competent Authorities
- Demonstrable experience of leading and developing teams
- Nationally recognised Process Safety qualification
- Nationally recognised Safety qualification
- Strong understanding of COMAH, DSEAR, PHA, MOC and risk management
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs and Hazardous Area drawings
- Minimum 10 years’ engineering experience supporting operations and/or projects
- Ability to influence senior leaders and work across complex, multi‑disciplinary teams
- Highly computer literate with experience using process safety software
- Experience working with partner organisations or alliances
- Project management qualifications (desirable)
