About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Spares Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team in Lincoln. This role is key to supporting spares and service operations, ensuring accurate interpretation of spare parts requirements and delivering timely solutions to meet customer demand.
You will work closely with Sales and Tendering Managers, supporting both planned maintenance and urgent breakdown scenarios while driving efficiency improvements across the spares process.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and manage scheduled and unscheduled spare parts enquiries
Support the processing of chargeable spares orders and creation of recommended spares lists
Investigate component suitability and maintain records for future reference and optimisation
Manage spares backlog and expedite information from sourcing, engineering, and coordination teams
Provide support during bid and tender processes, including technical notes for customers
Liaise with suppliers and procurement teams on spare part identification, availability, and interchangeability
Deliver rapid support during customer shutdowns and urgent breakdowns
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance turnaround times and process efficiency
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across all spares activities
Skills & Experience Required
Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent engineering qualification/experience
Broad engineering background with strong technical understanding
Knowledge of gas turbines and supporting equipment (advantageous)
Strong attention to detail with excellent multitasking ability
Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement
Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
SAP experience (preferred but not essential)
