Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new role? Do you have a strong background in designing conveyors and material handling equipment using Solid Works? If so, this opportunity could be ideal for you.

Our client, a well-established engineering company, is looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will bring strong 3D design experience, a practical understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to deliver robust engineering solutions.

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)

Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

• Design and develop conveyors and material handling equipment

• Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Solid Works

• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective

• Support projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning

• Carry out design calculations and ensure compliance with relevant standards

• Liaise with internal teams and clients to meet project requirements and deadlines

• Support continuous improvement of design processes and product development

• Provide technical support during build and installation phases

Mechanical Design Engineer

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Strong proficiency in Solid Works

• Experience designing conveyors, handling systems, or similar machinery

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Full UK driving licence (desirable)
