Join our dynamic Gas Turbine Engineering team in Lincoln, UK, as a Mechanical Design Engineer! In this role, you will engage in the concept and detailed design of Gas Turbine components and assemblies, ensuring they meet product requirements while optimizing your work through hand calculations. You will conduct root cause analysis and design experiments, specifying test requirements for components and engines.
Presenting your findings both in written reports and verbally to groups will be key, as will producing and maintaining method documents. You will also monitor and report on achievements against technical and schedule objectives, contributing to our mission of innovation in energy technology.
- You will lead the design of Gas Turbine components, ensuring they meet overall product requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and weighted decision analysis to drive design improvements.
- Specify component and engine test requirements to validate your designs.
- Present your work effectively through written reports and group presentations.
- Monitor and report on technical achievements and schedule objectives to ensure project success.
- A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years post‑graduate experience in mechanical design, preferably in rotating machinery.
- Solid knowledge of machinery design and manufacturing processes, with demonstrable work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Proficiency in writing technical project briefs and collaborating with project managers to achieve objectives.
- Experience working with component and process suppliers is advantageous.
- Current 3D CAD skills, ideally in NX, with recent experience in a Teamcenter/PLM environment being beneficial.
